Chiropractic Care Helps Fibromyalgia Pain

Chiropractic Spinal Manipulation Reported as Effective for Treating Fibromyalgia Discomfort in Amite City

If you are struggling with fibromyalgia, you are not alone, as The Culminating Experience Chiropractic Clinic sees many patients with this particular issue in our Amite City chiropractic clinic. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that roughly 2% of all adults in the USA have fibromyalgia discomfort. Fortunately, chiropractic therapy is one treatment option that can provide positive results.

Research Supports Chiropractic Care Reduces Fibromyalgia Issues

In a medical study released in mid-2015, 215 people with fibromyalgia were evaluated based on factors ranging from pain to quality of sleep to the levels of depression or anxiety they felt. Then they were split into two groups with one group receiving a multi-modal treatment program for three months and the second group receiving the same approach with the addition of chiropractic adjustments (specifically, to the upper neck tissues) for the same length of time.

The individuals who received chiropractic care combined with the multi-modal therapy approach reported greater results in all areas (pain, sleep, depression, and anxiety) at three months post-treatment when compared to the study people who received multi-modal therapy without chiropractic care. Furthermore, those positive benefits were lasting as the patients reported continued improvement one full year later.

Fibromyalgia discomfort can greatly reduce your quality of life, both psychologically and physically. If you're struggling with fibromyalgia, we might be able to help.
